Search from the address bar
Make Blip your browser's search engine, or keep yours and type b, then a space, to ask Blip.

- Paste this into the address bar and press Enter:chrome://settings/searchEngines
- Under Site search, click Add. Name: Blip. Shortcut: b. URL:https://www.useblip.app/?q=%sBeen to useblip.app before? Blip is probably already under Inactive shortcuts: click Activate, then its pencil, and set the shortcut to b.
- To make it your default, click ⋮ beside Blip, then Make default.

Brave, Opera and Vivaldi take the same steps in their own search-engine settings.

- For the keyword, under Search Shortcuts on the same page, double-click Blip's Keyword, type b and press Enter.

On Android or iPhone, add a search engine in Firefox's Settings → Search with this address:https://www.useblip.app/?q=%s
SafariYour browser
Safari can't add a search engine: on Mac, iPhone and iPad it offers only Google, Yahoo, Bing, DuckDuckGo and Ecosia. To keep Blip a click away instead:
- On a Mac, open useblip.app and choose File → Add to Dock: Blip opens like an app.
- On iPhone or iPad, open useblip.app, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
Bangs still work there, typed into Blip's own search bar.
Other browsers
Add a search engine in the browser's settings named Blip, with the shortcut or keyword b and this address:
https://www.useblip.app/?q=%sBangs
Start or end a search with a bang to go straight to another site's results: !g cats or cats !g opens Google's results for “cats”, and !g alone opens Google. With Blip as your search engine, the address bar goes there before Blip even loads. A bang doesn't use a free search or go into your history, and one Blip doesn't know is searched as you typed it.
